Freedom For Donna
For those of you who do not know Donna Bell, you're missing out. Donna was in a vehicle accident 34 years ago leaving her a quadriplegic, paralyzed from the shoulders down. Donna was 15 at the time of the accident and had never been very good at art. It would be another 7 years until she discovered she had a natural talent for drawing and crochet. Featured Artist Donna Bell - Quadriplegic - Artist
Today I have the pleasure of featuring a good friend of mine and fellow artist Donna Bell. I met Donna about two years ago on facebook but it hasn't been until very recently that we've connected on another level. Let me tell you a little about Donna's personal story.
Donna Bell is a native of Denham Springs, Louisiana which is how we first met because we are virtual neighbors, about 45 minutes drive between us. My good Friend needs help. Please take a moment
My good Friend needs help. Please take a moment. It takes 30 seconds.
My name is Donna Bell. I live in Denham Springs, La. I'm 49 years old. I was in one car accident, June 28, 1979. I was 15, the wreck left me a quadriplegic C3-C4. Unable to move from the shoulders down.
I have never had a powered wheelchair, because of the cost of a lift and van. I have had only a manual wheelchair with my family lifting in and out of the car.
Only since I've been paralyzed I have taught myself how to draw and crochet, by mouth, with the encouragement of family and friends.
